Birmingham Out of the Darkness Walk

The Birmingham Out of the Darkness Walk will take place at Heardmont Park on Sunday November 6, 2016. The 11th Annual Birmingham “Out of the Darkness” Community Walk is a fundraising walk to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. There are over 360 “Out of the Darkness” Community Walks taking place throughout the U.S. this fall, with an expected 200,000 participants. Last year, these walks raised almost $14 million for local and national suicide prevention programs. Last year the Birmingham Walk ranked 21st in the nation with over 1,400 walkers, in spite of rain, and raising almost $140,000. The previous year (on a sunny day, ha) we raised almost $180,000.
