Q: Please describe Always Best Care’s area of expertise.
A: Since 2013, Always Best Care has provided concierge-level in-home care to seniors or disabled people so they can continue to live safely and independently in their home. We provide skilled nursing services, as well as non-medical services such as bathing, grooming, personal care, vital sign monitoring, medication reminders, balance checks, transportation, laundry, housekeeping and meal preparation.
Always Best Care is recognized as a premier healthcare provider and has been awarded accreditation status by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) for the categories of Private Duty Nursing, Companion and Aide Services.
We are proud to be the only company in the state of Alabama to be accredited by ACHC for these services.
Q: Owner Jennifer Mancuso, could you describe your educational and experiential background?
A: I have a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Millsaps College and attended Duke University. I am a long-term Birmingham resident and seasoned veteran in the healthcare industry.
After working many years as a senior manager with leading health care clinical and health management services, I founded Always Best Care in 2013.
Q: What is your approach or philosophy to customer service?
A: We strive for 100% client satisfaction at Always Best Care. Our dedicated efforts result in rave reviews and consistently high client retention. Client satisfaction starts with an initial, comprehensive client assessment conducted by a Client Services professional, regular health and wellness checks by our Clinical Services director — who is a RN — and careful employee matching with our clients.
Every two weeks, we visit our regular clients in the home to make sure that the tailored care plan is being followed and that the client is happy with their assigned caregiver. We employ a professional polling company to regularly measure and improve client loyalty, learning how we can improve and maintain high retention. Our dedication to client satisfaction results in consistent five-star Google ratings.
Q: How have you adjusted your operations and/or services to comply with COVID-19 safety measures?
A: Always Best Care puts the health and safety of our clients, their families and our employees first. We have taken steps in order to maintain a safe and independent lifestyle for our clients while reducing the risk for the transmission of the coronavirus. Our care teams are educated to ensure they follow the best practices in order to provide safe and high-quality care.
As experts in the senior care industry, we can offer valuable information and insight into the best way to care for your loved one through this stressful time. Always Best Care caregivers are available to provide immediate care and support to our senior community and their families.
Best practices for hygiene and safety during the COVID-19 outbreak have been, and will continue to be, reinforced with Always Best Care caregivers and employees.
We supply masks and gloves to all clients and employees, and we require employees to wear them while working. At the beginning of every workday, our employees must attest in writing that they are COVID-19 negative and have not been in contact with anyone with COVID-19 symptoms. Armed with plenty of personal protective equipment (PPE), we are the only home care agency in Alabama providing in-home services to COVID-19 positive patients.
Q: What do you most want potential patients to know about Always Best Care?
A: Always Best Care identifies and recruits only the most qualified caregivers and nurses. We exclusively hire seasoned caregiving and nursing professionals who have had at least one year’s experience in a professional health care setting, such as a hospital or skilled nursing facility.
Any care provider who provides hands-on care must be a Certified Nurse Aide or have a higher level of certification or licensing. Professional and personal background checks, reference and motor vehicle record checks are conducted on all employees. Every care provider must provide a clear TB test result and complete 12 hours of health care training each year. If there is not an excellent fit between the client and their caregiver, we immediately assign another caregiver.
