What is a cosmetologist? Trocadero Salon Manager Michelle Lindsey knows.
“They are businesspeople, confidants, artists and more,” Michelle said.
Since her junior year in high school, Michelle knew she wanted to work in a salon after her school counselor told her she was pretty, smart and should “go out for secretary or something.” Michelle left the office only to find a cosmetology school recruiting.
“I picked up the pamphlet. Asked questions. Went home that night and informed my parents that I was going to be a cosmetologist,” she said.
Since then, Michelle’s journey in the industry has been amazing. Her experience as a Matrix master colorist, guest artist and educator has gifted her the tools and expertise to create each guest’s desired look.
“I’ve found that patience and trusting the process have been defining factors in taking an unsatisfactory color to enjoyable, realistic results,” she said.
At Trocadero Salon, Michelle works with women, children and men for haircuts, blow dries, highlights, lowlights, perms, straighteners and more. More recently, Michelle started a new process to help client’s seamlessly transition to their “adult blondes.”
As for COVID-19 safety, Michelle and the staff take it seriously with air purification, weekly sanitation fog, partitions, mask requirements and more.
Michelle plans to continue exceptional services and results with the Trocadero family. “We are looking forward to another 46 years in the village,” she said.
