Mirela Elliott discovered her passion for financial advising after a long journey.
Originally from Europe, Mirela first came to the United States as an exchange student. Her sponsor family happened to work in the financial industry. She became interested in the work and eventually interned with financial institutions in Washington, D.C., understanding the positive impact financial advisors can provide families.
After graduating college, Mirela joined the financial advisory business and began building her practice from the ground up. Today she serves as associate vice president and financial advisor at Raymond James and Associates located on U.S. 280 where she and her team manage over four hundred million dollars in client assets.
“It’s been fun, challenging and rewarding,” Mirela said. “I am extremely fortunate that I have become such an important part of so many clients’ lives. I enjoy helping people with their financial goals, and I enjoy seeing people into and through retirement.”
Reaching her own professional goals has been a lesson in believing in yourself.
“There is no perfect bridge that I can cross over to get to where I want to be,” Mirela said. “I just have to believe in myself and take the leap. I believe this to be true in my business, and I believe this to be true for clients who have many goals, big or small … allowing yourself to start the journey.”
Today, Mirela’s work in wealth management opens doors to help clients achieve their personal goals.
“Whether you’re an individual, family or business, I help you get organized to build and preserve your wealth,” she said.
Mirela’s work with clients goes above and beyond, helping people plan for retirement, education or business, grow and preserve wealth, and manage estates or portfolios.
“We believe in taking the time and the care to go beyond the traditional approaches that most advisors offer,” she said. “We create a plan that is uniquely yours.”
This includes offering advanced financial knowledge and strategies, using state-of-the art technology — a tremendous asset once the COVID-19 pandemic hit. “We quickly developed a business continuity and communication plan, and through Raymond James’s cutting-edge technology, we were able to reach our clients and communicate with them seamlessly through Microsoft Teams or Zoom,” Mirela said.
Mirela has remained committed to developing and maintaining long-term relationships with her clients during these unprecedented times.
“The past several months have been tough, both mentally and physically for many of our clients,” Mirela said. “We have been having a lot of conversations and sending handwritten notes with daily devotions to help brighten their days. We try to make our clients feel special each day.”
Mirela is intently focused on first listening to her clients. Client conversations and meetings are centered on understanding their goals, concerns and fears. This approach allows her to create the best outcomes for her clients.
“Working with a financial professional can be rewarding,” Mirela said. “Our experience and expertise can enhance their financial lives and the lives of their families.”
Moving forward into 2021, Mirela and her Raymond James team are working to develop unique niches with women business owners, corporate executives, and health care professionals.
