1212 Cherokee Road 280 Intersection
Alabama Department of Transportation has proposed altering the traffic signal at Cherokee Road and Highway 280.
Drivers will find a lane on U.S. 280 closed on Tuesday, Jan. 6. The westbound outside (right) lane will be closed from Green Valley Road to Overton Road from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., according to a release from the Alabama Department of Transportation.
The lane closure is subject to weather, but the current forecast for the day shows no chance of rain.
The closure will provide space for drilling equipment and personnel to perform Geotechnical Investigations (soil borings) along the roadway.
ALDOT’s release asked that drivers adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area.
