Corgill Pep Rally
Signs were held in support of Corgill.
On Thursday, Jan. 15, students and teachers at Cherokee Bend Elementary held a pep rally to honor 2014-2015 State Teacher of the Year Ann Marie Corgill.
On Jan. 14, Corgill was announced as one of four finalists for 2015 National Teacher of the Year. After the announcement, the school organized a pep rally to show support for its fourth- grade teacher.
Students of every grade filed into the gym at 2:30 p.m. and Corgill soon followed. She was greeted with students holding handmade signs and chanting "C-B-S."
The National Teacher of the Year will be named in April and then spend a year traveling the nation to represent educators and advocate on behalf of teachers.
