Junior League Scholarship Past Recipients Carlin Barnes of Shades Valley High School, Jodi Handley of Birmingham School of Law, Cya’ Johnson of Minor High School and DeKayla Sankey of Auburn University.
The Junior League of Birmingham is now accepting applications for scholarships for young women living in Shelby or Jefferson counties.
The scholarships are $1,000 minimum for one year. They will be granted to women who demonstrate outstanding volunteer performance in the community.
“The Junior League of Birmingham is excited to offer the females of our community an opportunity to support their educational aspirations,” said Alison Scott, president of the Junior League of Birmingham. “We are proud to invest in the future female leaders of our community.”
The applicants must be one of the following:
- Graduating high school seniors
- Currently enrolled college students
- Graduating college seniors
- Non-traditional students
The application form can be sent to the Junior League office by March 2 or submitted online at www.jlbonline.com.
