Mountain Brook police reported multiple property thefts in this week’s community update.
All three thefts were reported in the last week. Between June 22 and 23, a license plate was stolen off a truck in the 3500 block of Spring Valley Terrace. On Friday, June 24, a laptop and tablet were reportedly taken from a residence on Springhill road.
The third theft was reported on June 29, but reportedly occurred between May 13 and 26. The victim reported that during that time, silver and guns were taken from a residence on Montevallo Road.
Police also reported two instances of identity theft in the update. One victim reported on June 9, a forged check on his account was submitted for payment, and someone attempted to open a Discover account in his name. Another victim reported his identity was used in multiple attempts to open different lines of credit.
Other incidents in the community update included:
- A hit and run in the lot of 6 Office Park Circle was reported on June 22. A parked car was reportedly hit, and the offender left the scene.
- Officers responded to an open house party in the 400 block of Michael Lane. This incident occurred on June 25.
- Police arrested an individual on June 28 and charged him with trespassing. The individual reportedly entered property in the 3800 block of Glencoe Drive after he was told to leave.
- Police reportedly pulled over a driver at Hollywood Boulevard and U.S. 280 on June 28 and impounded his vehicle because he did not have a license. During inventory of his vehicle, narcotics and marijuana were reportedly found.
