Multiple thefts were reported in the Sept. 8 community update from Mountain Brook Police Department.
Police reported a Chevrolet pickup truck was forcibly entered and stolen between Aug. 31 and Sept. 1. The car was in the 2800 block of Thornhill Road at the time of the theft, according to the update, and is maroon in color. During that same time, in the same general area, a car window was broken and a laptop and backpack were reported stolen.
A car window was also reportedly broken in the 100 block of Office Park Drive on Sept. 7. Nothing was reported stolen in the update, and the incident was described as criminal mischief.
On Sept. 2, two ladders were stolen from the 2500 block of Country Club Circle, according to the report.
Two instances of identity theft were also reported. Between Aug. 13 and Sept. 1, someone opened a line of credit using the victim’s identity. Between Sept. 6 and 7, another victim reported her Gmail and Amazon accounts were compromised, and an unauthorized purchase was made using her Amazon credits.
Police also reported two narcotics-related incidents. On Sept. 1, police pulled over a driver and found their license was suspended. While impounding the vehicle, police reported finding drugs and a firearm in the car, and more drugs were reportedly found on the driver.
On Sept. 6, a white woman reportedly presented a forged prescription for narcotics at a pharmacy on Cahaba Road.
Two hit and runs were reported, including one on U.S. 280 near Shades Creek Parkway. On Sept. 6, a Scion XB was reportedly hit by a silver Kia Forte that left the scene. Between Sept. 4 and 7, a parked car on Thornhill Road was hit by another vehicle that left the scene.
Other incidents in the update included:
- One worker reported being assaulted by a coworker. The incident occurred on Sept. 2 in the 200 block of Country Club Park, according to the report.
- On. Sept. 2, an unknown male attempted to cash a forged check at a bank in the 10 block of Office Park Circle. The check was drawn on a business account, according to the report.
- Police reported an incident involving a vicious animal occurred on Sept. 2. A woman was reportedly attacked by a dog while walking her two dogs. The incident occurred on Hillard Drive.
