Two individuals reported their debit cards were used to make unidentified purchases, according to the May 26 Mountain Brook Police Department community update.
One purchase occurred on May 13 in the 3800 block of Cromwell Drive, and the other was on May 15 in the 90 block of Euclid Avenue, according to the update.
On May 20, a forged check was presented to be cashed in the 100 block of Office Park Drive. The incident was identified as possession of a forged instrument.
Police also reported two hit and runs in the update. On May 19, a red GMC Acadia reportedly backed out, hit a green Nissan pickup and left the scene. The incident occurred in the 50 block of Church Street. The other hit and run reportedly occurred on May 24. A white van turning from U.S. 280 E onto Green Valley Road and struck a gold Toyota Camry and did not stop, according to the update.
Two instances of criminal mischief also reportedly occurred in the last two weeks. Between May 6 and May 19, police reported a post in the 2800 block of Shook Hill Circle was knocked down and graffiti was spray painted on a wall. The other incident occurred between May 9 and May 10. A vehicle in the 10 block of Norman Drive was reportedly egged, causing permanent damage to the vehicle’s paint.
The community update also included a property theft, where a vending machine was damaged and money was stolen, and a car break-in during which a stereo was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
