The Birmingham Botanical Gardens will host “Embracing Natives: The Benefits of Native Landscaping in an Urban Environment” on Tuesday, April 14, from 10-11:30 a.m. in the Adventure Classroom.
Led by Isabelle Bracewell of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, the program will explore how native plants support wildlife and enhance urban gardens. The session will also include guidance on selecting easy-to-install native species and creating functional, attractive landscapes.
Participants will tour select garden areas where native plants are cultivated. Comfortable shoes are recommended due to uneven paths.
The cost is $25 for members and $30 for nonmembers.
