The Birmingham Zoo invites the community to join them in celebrating National Pink Flamingo Day June 25 from 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Guests are invited to visit the zoo to see the colorful flock of flamingos and learn all about these unique birds, like what makes them pink and why some of their feathers are not pink. Guests will see how the zoo makes sure the flamingos don’t fly away and might see some of the new breeding efforts with the Zoo’s flock.
Free flamingo feedings will be held from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and from 2:30-3:30 p.m.
The day's schedule of activities is as follows:
- 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.: Face Painting and coloring
- 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.: Biofacts station with real flamingo feathers and a model flamingo nest
- 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.: Selfie Station – Take a selfie with the Flamingos!
- 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.: FREE Flamingo Feeding and Keeper Chat
- 2:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m.: FREE Flamingo Feeding and Keeper Chat
