On Monday, Jan. 18, the Birmingham Zoo invites the community to give back to those in need in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. By donating any non-perishable or canned food item in support of the Zoo’s United Way Canned Food Drive, visitors will receive half-price admission.
Ticket prices will cost $8.00 (plus tax) for adults, $7.00 (plus tax) for senior citizens 65 years and older and military, and $5.50 (plus tax) for children ages two to 12-years-old. Children under two are free. Guests must bring one item per person to receive the discount.
On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Birmingham Zoo guests can enjoy a Children’s Zoo Keeper Chat at 1:30 p.m., participate in a pelican feeding and watch a sea lion training demonstration. For an additional cost, guests can take an inner tube ride on the Wild Slide, as well as take a train and carousel ride.
