Quilter Bettye Kimbrell will visit the Emmet O'Neal Library on Jan. 25. She will include an exhibition of her work and a hands-on quilting workshop lead by Kimbrell.
Author Joyce Cauthen will also attend the workshop. She will give a brief talk and sign copies of her book, Out of Whole Cloth: The Life of Bettye Kimbrell.
Kimbrell's quilts have exhibited in France, Belgium, China and across the U.S. She was named a Nation Heritage Fellow by the National Endowment for the Arts in 2008. Cauthen recently retired as Director of the Alabama Folklife Association.
