Jacob Carroll torches Huffman
Jacob Carroll gained 386 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Mountain Brook Spartans.
Mountain Brook quarterback Jacob Carroll continued his outstanding 2013 season with 386 yards and four touchdowns, leading the Spartans to a 31-7 victory over Huffman.
Carroll passed for 337 yards and three touchdowns, along with 49 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
The Huffman defense was torched by Carroll's passing attack and receivers Hunter Branch and Drew Odum, who were almost uncoverable. Branch hauled in 12 passes for 203 yards and two touchdowns, while Odum caught seven passes for 134 yards and a score.
Gene Bromberg led the Spartans' ground attack with 79 yards on 18 carries.
Mountain Brook (5-3, 4-2) faces their longtime rival, the Vestavia Hills Rebels next week.
