It was Senior Night at Mountain Brook, but the Spartans didn't send the class out the way they wanted to, losing a 28-10 decision to the Hewitt-Trussville Huskies on Friday, Oct. 17 at Spartan Stadium.
Mountain Brook scored all its points in the first half and trailed 14-10, but the Spartans couldn't get anything going offensively in the second half.
Harrison Ritchie kicked a 36-yard field goal and Jacob Carroll had a 1-yard TD run for Mountain Brook.
The Spartans (3-5, 3-3 Class 7A, Region 3) are not out of the playoff hunt by any means. They are tied at 3-3 in the region with Hewitt and Tuscaloosa County and all three teams are 1-1 against each other.
The Spartans host Spain Park next week while Hewitt host Hoover and Tuscaloosa County travels to Vestavia Hills.
