Trendon Watford had another strong game against Hewitt-Trussville on Tuesday.
Trendon Watford scored 21 points and Ben McCool added 18, as Mountain Brook knocked off Hewitt-Trussville, 87-61, on Tuesday night at Spartan Arena.
The win marks the 27th consecutive triumph at home for the Spartans (14-5), as they improve to 2-1 in Class 7A, Area 6 play.
Watford's efficient night included a 9-of-15 shooting performance from the field. McCool shot 75% (6-8) from the floor, as both players dished out three assists.
Jack Kline filled the stat sheet, with 13 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Sean Elmore hit 3-of-6 shots from three-point range to give him nine points, while adding a team-high four steals.
Mountain Brook moves to second place in area play with the win, a game behind Spain Park. The Spartans stay at home to play Vestavia Hills on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
