Selman and Co. barbershop has a new location in Crestline Village. Robin Selman, whose husband Buddy owns the shop, said the new space has a more modern feel and is located at 5 Dexter Ave. across from Mafiaoza’s Pizzeria and next to Iron Tribe Fitness.

For the past 25 years, the shop made its home in the former CVS building on Church Street, but in March the owner was asked to evacuate it to allow for Smith’s Variety and the new John Cassimus restaurant to occupy the building.

“All in all it’s going to be good for us,” Robin Selman said. “We were so happy to get a space. Our neighbors are wonderful.”

In addition to Buddy Selman, Dale Meisner also serves as a barber for the shop.

The business was originally known as Oak Street Barber Shop and was located in the current La Paz location for 22 years before the CVS location.

Mountain Brook Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting and grand opening for Selman and Co. on July 20 at 9 a.m., although it is already open in its new space.

Selman and Co. is open Tuesday to Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. For more information, call 870-9983.
