The section of Canterbury Road in Mountain Brook Village wasn't full of cars Wednesday evening. Instead, it was full of shoppers and residents mingling and enjoying a chance to get to know local business owners.

The second annual block party was a chance for local shops such as Ex Voto Vintage, The Village Poodle, Marguerite's Conceits, Christine's on Canterbury and more.

Several of the shops were offering wine tastings and light snacks, and the iCantina truck was on hand for something more substantial. Guests were also able to enjoy live music.

Elizabeth Adams of Ex Voto, who also helped coordinate the event, said she and others were happy with the turnout. She said that last year, rain kept a lot of the community away, but this year the weather was perfect.
