Italian jewelry designer Roberto Coin will visit Bromberg’s Mountain Brook location Wednesday, Oct. 21 as part of a limited United States tour. Coin will be on hand from 1-4 p.m., interacting with customers.

Bromberg Social Media Manager Anne Yoder said the entire store will be transformed into a Roberto Coin showroom the morning of his visit. No other jewelry will be on display during the duration of the event. Coin’s jewels are starting to arrive now, she said. Coin’s visit to the Mountain Brook jewelry store will be one of only a couple others he will make stateside, said Yoder.

“Roberto Coin’s visit to Bromberg’s speaks to what his company thinks about Mountain Brook and the Birmingham Community,” she said.

The Venetian designer’s work is perhaps most recognized by his signature ruby touch. Coin signs his jewels by setting a small ruby on the inside of each piece where it can touch the wearer’s skin, a tradition he said was inspired by legends.

“I was reading a historic book and an old Egyptian legend took my attention,” Coin said in an interview with JCK Magazine. “It talked about ancient pharaohs considering the ruby as a magic stone, able to provide health, happiness, and long life to those who kept it in contact with their skin.”

According to his official website, Coin designs more than 600 new models a year. Coin’s collections can be found in more than 60 countries at more than 1,000 shops.

Bromberg’s Mountain Brook is located at 2800 Cahaba Road. For more, visit the store’s website.
