Restaurants to donate 10 percent of profits to Relay for Life

On Tuesdays during the month of April, area restaurants have committed to donating 10 percent of profits for the day in support of Mountain Brook and the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

“We've always wanted to have restaurants involved in the past, but this year we had a great sponsorship committee that's made it happen,” said Relay for Life Director Paul Styslinger, a MBHS senior who relays in honor of his grandmother who won a battle with breast cancer. “Our sponsorship committee chair Kate Causey came up with the idea and has done a wonderful job planning/implementing it.”

On the first Tuesday event Styslinger said he saw tons of pictures online of friends eating at the businesses and promoting Relay for Life.

Mountain Brook Relay for Life will be held April 19 starting at 4 p.m. at Mountain Brook High School Spartan Stadium. Thus far 90 teams and 1,196 participants have raised $62,224.79 for the cause,
