Mexican restaurant coming to English Village

A new Mexican restaurant is coming to English Village

La Catrina Mexican Cantina Grill will be located in the former Salvatore’s location between Sherwin Williams and Iz Cafe.

Owner Toshimi Hira said on Sept. 22 that all construction on the space has been complete, and it will open for business as soon as it receives sign and liquor permitting from the city. The council approved its liquor license at its Sept. 22 meeting.

This will be the restaurants fifth Birmingham area location. Others are located in downtown, Homewood, Trussville and Vestavia Hills.

The menu features a variety of Mexican favorites as well as lighter dishes such as Garden Fajitas and Grilled Mahi-Mahi.
