Shop Save & Share teams up with Mountain Brook retailers

by

The Junior League of Birmingham is teaming up with Mountain Brook Retailers Tuesday, Oct. 20 for a Shop Save & Share preview night on the eve of the annual fundraiser. Mountain Brook Village shoppers who hold a Shop Save & Share card will receive a 20 percent discount at a variety of participating locations from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday.

Shop Save & Share event Chair Emily Cotney, who has been with the Junior League for nine years, said the preview event will also serve as a “thank you” to the local stores.

“Our local stores have been so supportive from the very beginning,” Cotney said. “The preview event will tie our local Mountain Brook Village retailers together with our for an extra night of shopping and fundraising.”

The Shop Save & Share event, a Junior League staple, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and will be held between Oct. 21 and Nov. 1. To enjoy the discount, shoppers are asked to provide a $40 donation to the Junior League in exchange for a “Shop Save & Share Card” through either a retail partner or the League itself. With the card, shoppers receive a 20 percent discount on merchandise at hundreds of participating retailers in the Greater Birmingham Area this year.

Donations will help support the more than 30 community projects of the Junior League of Birmingham. Since it’s inception, according to the fundraiser’s website, Shop Save & Share has put more than $475,000 back into the community.

New cards must be obtained each year. Visit the Shop Save & Share website for a list of participating retailers.
