Tonya Jones gives donation to river society

Tonya Jones SalonSpa presented a check to the Cahaba River Society Wednesday evening, July 15.

The salon raised $16,000 for the society during its Earth Month events in April. The festivities included an EarthMonth party at its English Village location.

The Cahaba River Society works to restore and protect the Cahaba River watershed and its rich diversity of life. The Cahaba is the main drinking water source for the Birmingham Water Works Board, which serves about one-fifth of Alabama’s people. In addition, CRS works with many statewide partners to strengthen water resource protection policies at the state level benefiting all the people of Alabama.
