Village Press, a stationery shop in Mountain Brook Village, celebrated its 50th anniversary of business on Thursday, April 23.

The businesses still prints using an in-house, off-set printing press. Before printing, they help design whatever customers might want and then choose the best method to produce the product: engraving, letterpress, themography, embossing or in-house flat printing.

It is also a Crane Model Store and represents many other lines of stationery and products. Village Press works with brides across Alabama and designs invitations or notes for almost any event: birthdays, rehearsal dinner, afternoon teas, bridesmaids’ luncheons, sympathy notes, stickers and more. They also print letterhead and business cards for many professionals.

Mayor Terry Oden was part of a ribbon cutting that morning, and calligrapher Angela Welch, penned names for each guest who attended.

Village Press is owned by Patsy Howard.
