Women in Business: Donna Coates and Molisa Moss - Choice Home Care

by

When it comes to home care, you want what’s best for yourself and your loved one.

That’s the difference Choice Home Care makes for the clients and families they serve — whether you need long-term services or care after surgery, injury or illness, their experienced nurses and caregivers are your partners in good health and wellness.

Mountain Brook based and locally owned and operated, Choice is a company with a solid reputation and over 18 years of experience in serving the home health market in Jefferson, Shelby and St. Clair counties. Director of sales and marketing Molisa Moss said, “We use our experience to ease the burden on loved ones and we do our best to treat people like family.”

As a team, Choice Home Care focuses on overall well being and quality of life. In addition to companion and personal care services, the company offers in-home skilled nursing, physical therapy and specialized Alzheimers or dementia care. “We consider complete patient care a client’s physical, emotional, financial and spiritual well being,” said executive director Donna Coates.

Coates said each caregiver is invested in their clients and spend time focusing on keeping them safe in their surroundings, ensuring proper nutrition, safety in running errands and simply spending time in conversation. Choice offers monthly devotionals and has dedicated staff prayer times for their clients.

“Making a difference in client’s lives matters to us — we want people to know that we take it very seriously,” said Coates.

To aim for that goal of excellence, all caregivers undergo an intense vetting process of interviews, background checks and drug testing.

Choice handpicks staff members and looks for experience and servant hearts, Coates said. Caregivers include certified home health aides, certified nursing assistants, registered nurses and licensed practical nurses.

Specialized care is part of the overall approach, said Coates. Nursing staff routinely assist with wound care, blood draws and managing medications.

Choice understands that sickness or injury often require difficult decisions. Their mission is to maintain the dignity of those they serve by promoting health and well-being within the comfort of home. Coates and Moss agree that their services free family members to spend more quality time together. Choice caregivers form meaningful relationships with clients while helping them enjoy their days, Coates said.

Choice eases the burden on each family member with outstanding patient care and a commitment to meeting needs. “Don’t face health challenges alone. You can rely on us,” Moss said.

Let Choice Home Care’s experienced team provide support through personalized care plans. They understand home health, and they want to be your choice.
