Zoo’s Groundhog, Birmingham Bill set to make his prediction

The anticipation for good weather that Spring brings will be determined by Groundhog Birmingham Bill. 

The Birmingham Zoo will host a special event for children and families on Saturday, Feb. 2. 

The entire community is invited to come watch the Zoo’s very own celebrity groundhog and meteorologist extraordinaire answer that question. 

Visitors may come early to vote on what they think Birmingham Bill will decide. The days activities include enjoying complimentary coffee and hot chocolate provided by Red Diamond, playing Woodchuck Chuck Toss, creating a paper bag groundhog and receiving a recipe card to make groundhog cupcakes or pudding at home. 

The Wildlife Show will start immediately following Birmingham Bill’s prediction.

Visitors can also take advantage of a photo opportunity with Birmingham Bill after the show. 

Activities start at 9:30 a.m. and the Wildlife Show begins at 10 a.m. at the Special Events Yard. The cost is included with the price of Zoo admission.
