Mountain Brook City Manager Sam Gaston today announced that Janet Forbes will take Doris Kenny’s position as his Executive Assistant. Kenny will retire this month after 15 years of service.

Forbes, a lifelong resident of Mountain Brook, will start work on Jan. 25. She will train with Kenny for the remainder of the month, learning the different aspects of her new role and building on the foundation set by her predecessor.

Forbes most recently worked with Advance Central Services Alabama as an HR Assistant, but filled in for Kenny on two occasions about two years ago for several weeks at a time. She has also worked with the city's Parks/Recreation Department and the Chamber of Commerce.

"Her past experience and knowledge of city operations and the Executive Assistant position will be very valuable to us," said Gaston.

Forbes is a graduate of Mountain Brook High School and Auburn University. She is married to Billy Forbes and they have two sons, Will and Charlie. They are members of Canterbury United Methodist Church.
