Aging forum to be at Canterbury UMC

by

A forum on aging is coming to Canterbury United Methodist this weekend.

The Canterbury-Beeson Forum on Aging is an annual gathering of professional and non-professional caregivers that focuses on aging and ways to manage transitions in the aging process. This year’s event features four informative sessions that are designed to educate the community and help health care professionals earn valuable education hours. Health care professionals, personal caregivers, and concerned family members are all welcome to attend.

“The Beeson Forum provides a terrific one-day overview on subjects related to the care of the aging,” Canterbury member Ralph Yeilding said. “Both years I’ve attended, the information from the speakers has helped put me on the path to learning about all of the various resources and strategies available to help me ease my mother’s journey with dementia.”

Throughout the day, attendees can also explore a number of vendor tables in Canterbury Hall for information from a variety of agencies and services.

The event will be held Saturday, Aug. 8 from 7:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Canterbury Center. The cost of $25 per person includes lunch if registered by Aug. 3. For more information or to register, please visit canterburyumc.org/beeson2015 or call Laura Dabbs at 874-1561.
