Art show added to Food Truck Round Up festivities

PreSchool Partner's annual Food Truck Round Up event is adding an art show this year. The May 2 event will feature Ahmad Austin, Kristin Blakeney, Emily Brown, Emily Coe, Anne Couch, Emily DeBuys, Lauren Duncan, Dorothy Goodner, Mila Hirsh, Alice Lucas, Carrie Pittman and Lacey Russell.

Additionally, Kate & the Howlers will provide live music, and kids can enjoy a bounce house and face painting. Food trucks confirmed for the event include Cantina on Wheels, Dreamcakes, Ezelle’s Catfish Cabin, Full Moon Bar-B-Que, Greg’s Hotdogs, Heavenly Donut Company, Mellow Mushroom, Melt, Neal’s on Wheels, Nola Ice, Off the Hook, Recippi's Italian Ice & Gelato, Shindigs and Slice.

The Round Up, sponsored by Protective Life, benefits PreSchool Partners' programs to prepare at-risk preschool children and their parents for kindergarten in Birmingham City Schools. The organization is hoping to beat the $62,000 raised and 1,000 attendees from last year.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door and are available at preschool-partners.org. Kids under 10 get in free. Tickets include four tokens redeemable at any food trucks or beverage stations. The event will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the upper Macy’s parking lot at Brookwood Village.
