Birmingham Zoo collecting Toys for Tots through Dec. 16

The Birmingham Zoo will be wrapping up its Toys for Tots collection Wednesday, Dec. 16.

Donors can drop off new and unwrapped toys at one of two collection boxes at the Zoo, one in the gift shop and one by the new front gate breezeway.

Toys for Tots is also accepting monetary donations online this year, via the program’s website.

A U.S. Marines program, Toys for Tots has helped deliver toys to less fortunate children all across the country for nearly 70 years. According to a Birmingham Zoo news release, the Marines have helped provide more than 230 million children with more than 494 million toys to date.
