Brown Bag Program to host former ambassador

The Brown Bag Program at the Emmet O'Neal Library will host Woody Norman and William Jelks Cabaniss, Jr. on Wednesday, Feb. 25. It begins at noon.

Norman will begin the program by introducing his new book, William Jelks Cabaniss, Jr. Then Cabaniss will speak and hold a presentation on his time in the Alabama House of Representatives and as an Ambassador to the Czech Republic.

Cabaniss is a Mountain Brook native and spent 12 years in the Alabama Senate as one of the first few Republicans elected after Reconstruction. A long political career followed, including friendships with the Bush family and ushering change into the legislature. He also served as an ambassador to the Czech Republic from 2004-2006.
