Car break-ins, burglary reported in community update

In this week’s community update, multiple instances of forced entry and theft were reported by Mountain Brook police.

Suspects forced entry at a residence in the 4200 block of Wilderness Road on Nov. 16. A watch was stolen, and police report the offender might have been scared away because an alarm was activated at the house.

On Nov. 18, electronics, jewelry and household items were taken from a residence in the 10 block of Ridge Drive after an unknown suspect or suspects forced entry to the home.

On Nov. 12, suspects cut the locks on a trailer and stole lawn equipment in the 10 block of Ronnie Wayne Circle.

Purses were stolen from two cars at Mountain Brook Gymnastics on Nov. 16. The window of one of the cars was broken.

Two watches were stolen in the 600 block of Brookwood Village on Nov. 18.

There were also two thefts from unlocked vehicles. One theft occurred on Nov. 16 between 3:01 a.m. and 3:06 a.m. The suspect entered a car in the 3000 block of Sterling Road and stole a laptop. Between Nov. 8 and Nov. 15, a suspect took a handgun and hunting pack from an unlocked vehicle in the 3300 block of Stoneridge Drive.
