Car break-in suspect arrested

Columbiana resident Timothy Brent Williams, 28, was arrested and charged in connection to several car break-ins in the Mountain Brook area. 

The car break-ins occurred in the areas of Balmoral Road, Overbrook Road and Pine Crest Road from Aug. 12-13, according to police. According to a community update, six break-ins occurred in those areas, and all six vehicles were unlocked. A television, sunglasses, credit cards, a computer, a band saw and binoculars were among the stolen items.

Following the break-ins, police released a photo of a suspect. The suspect was reportedly using credit cards that were stolen from the vehicles.

Police obtained warrants on Williams for unlawful breaking and entering, second degree theft and fraudulent use of a credit card. The investigation is ongoing and more charges may follow.
