The Mountain Brook City Council will hold a special meeting to vote on rezoning for a proposed Vine Street Piggly Wiggly.

The meeting will be held Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, 56 Church Street.

Also at the meeting, the council will hold a public hearing regarding an economic incentive agreement that could go into effect if they rezone property for the proposed store off Vine Street. See a full report about the stipulations in this agreement.

The council held a public hearing regarding the rezoning of three lots on Vine Street that would allow for the Piggly Wiggly development at its Nov. 24 meeting.

During the hearing, which lasted two and a half hours, the council heard a presentation from the store’s architect that outlined plan revisions to moved the service entrance so that trucks will enter from Church Street instead of West Jackson.

At its conclusion, the council decided to vote on the issue at a future meeting to allow residents more time to review the plans.
