Fathers receive free admission at zoo on Father’s Day

In honor of Father’s Day, fathers can get in free with the purchase of a child’s full-price admission at the Birmingham Zoo on Sunday, June 21 . 

During the day, guests are invited to participate in a variety of activities. Some of these include feeding the lorikeets in the newly renovated Lorikeet Aviary, riding the new Wild Slide and taking a journey on the new Safari Zipline Adventure.     

Guests are also invited to see the Red Diamond Sea Lion Splash Show, which presents new behaviors from the zoo’s California sea lions.

Other activities include feeding the giraffes at the Kiwanis Giraffe Encounter, learning about the African bull elephants during the Boma Encounter, seeing butterflies in the Butterfly Garden, cooling off in the Splash Pads and participating in a pelican feeding.   

The zoo’s summer extended hours are from Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m.–7 p.m. now through Aug. 10.
