U.S. 280 traffic was stalled Friday, May 8 after a brush fire broke out near Office Park.

The fire started when debris from a private company's utility truck caught fire, said Mountain Brook Fire Department Battalion Chief Stacey Cole. The driver attempted to get the fire and the debris out of the truck, which spread into the vegetation on the side of U.S. 280.

Two lanes of U.S. 280 West were closed for approximately 15 minutes as the department extinguished the fire.
