Front door kicked in at Cahaba Road residence

Mountain Brook police officers responded to a burglar alarm call in the 3300 block of Cahaba Road on Saturday.

The call came in around 2:47 a.m., and officers found an unknown suspect kicked in the front door of a residence to gain entry. Officers searched the residence and the area but did not find a suspect, according to the MBPD community update.

Police also reported two thefts in this week’s community update. One theft was on Sept. 15 at a Cahaba Road business. The other theft occurred at a home in the 4200 block of Old Leeds Road. An air conditioning unit was taken from the house between Sept. 8 and Sept. 10.

An unknown suspect or suspects also reportedly stole credit cards from an unlocked car in the 3100 block of Sterling Road. The car break-in occurred between Sept. 11 and Sept. 13.
