Gardens to host Earth Day celebration
The Birmingham Botanical Gardens will host an Eaerth Day celebration on Saturday, April 25.
The event will take place from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Formal Garden in front of the Conservatory and will include archival displays and educational activities including: Community Garden Coalition of Birmingham, Birmingham Eastside Eco-Gardens, West End Community Gardens, Cahaba Environmental Center, Birmingham Zoo, St. Vincent's Community Outreach, Three Hots and a Cot, Jefferson County Master Gardeners, Girl Scout Troop 1017, Grandmother's Garden at Duncan House, P.E.E.R. Inc. and The Library at Birmingham Botanical Gardens.

- 11-4 p.m. - Archival Display and Canning Demonstration
Formal Garden
- 11-4 p.m. - Vendor booths with activities, children's activities, rotation of character actors
- 11-4 p.m. - Live music by DJ Lowry Entertainment Services
- 12-3 p.m. - Era-themed photo booth by Little Red Photo Booths
Linn-Henley Lecture Hall - Movie Schedule
- 11-11:30 a.m. - Victory Gardens (20 minutes) & Barney Bear's Victory Garden (8 minutes)
- 11:30-1 p.m. - Molly: An American Girl on the Home Front
- 1-1:30 p.m. - Victory Gardens (20 minutes) & Andy Panda's Victory Garden (7 minutes)
- 1:30-3:30 p.m. - Molly: An American Girl on the Home Front
- 3:30-4 p.m. - Barney Bear's Victory Garden (8 minutes) & Andy Panda's Victory Garden (7 minutes)
Admission is free. Activities will take place in the Garden Center if it rains.
