James Bond film to be shown at Botanical Gardens

A big screen is coming to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens on Friday, May 16.

Flicks Amongst The Flowers debut film will take viewers back to the decade the Gardens was founded for the 1964 James Bond classic Goldfinger. The free event will take place in the Formal Garden in front of the newly renovated Conservatory.

Kathy G. and Company will offer a themed menu for purchase. “Gold Dust” Truffle Popcorn, Homemade Parmesean Potato Chips, a take on the Cuban sandwich called the “Operation Grand Slam” and a Smoked Portabella Panini on Focaccia will be available to complement a selection of beers, wines, champagne and martinis (shaken, not stirred).

Gates open at 6 p.m., and the film begins at 7:30 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to bring a blanket and find a spot on the lawn to enjoy the film. No outside food or beverages are allowed, and no pets are allowed.
