On the evening of Oct. 20, Rele Street was shut down to vehicle traffic but in full operation for pedestrians. The Celebration on Rele Street, designed as a grand opening street festival for the Lane Parke shopping center, kicked off with open shops games, crafts, food trucks and live music.

Many of the tenants had booths outside on the sidewalk for visitors to stop by and offered specials or ways to sign up for store updates.

"This is such a neat thing, we should really do this [regularly]," said A'mano owner Lynn Ritchie.

While the shopping may be more for the adults, there was no shortage of kid's entertainment. Special guests such as Spiderman, Batman and Elsa wandered the street and Western Market supplied children with pumpkins to decorate.

"It's really a community event because we really wanted to do this for the community, which has been so supportive of the whole thing," said Stephen Bradley of Stephen Bradley and Associates. "I think this is just right. I'm tickled to death."

The next step for the Lane Parke shopping is its second phase, which isn't scheduled to start until 2019. This phase will bring additional shopping spaces but hopes to be more of an upscale boutique experience.
