Linda Dobbins had some big news for her dancers this week.

On New Year’s Eve, Linda Dobbins Dance Studio elite competitive company dancers will perform in the halftime show at the Orange Bowl in Miami live in front of 75,000 people and on world wide TV.

When representatives from the Orange Bowl contacted Dobbins with the invitation about two weeks ago, she was shocked.

“They actually came to us and said that they just knew our reputation from our performances across the country,” she said.

Not only is Linda Dobbins Dance the only studio that has been invited to represent Alabama, it is also the only Alabama studio that has been invited to perform at the Orange Bowl in more than three years.

Dobbins announced the invitation to her dancers on Tuesday, July 22.

“They jumped and screamed and went crazy,” she said, “especially when they found out who last year’s act was and they realized that they would be dancing with a famous singer.”

Last year’s Orange Bowl featured a performance by country music singer Dierks Bentley. The headlining act for this year’s Orange Bowl will be announced in October.

The performance will be choreographed by Dee Caspary, who has worked on Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance as well as on choreography for some of Justin Timberlake’s live shows.

Stay tuned for more updates on Linda Dobbins Dance as they prepare for their big performance.
