Mountain Brook residents might see a fair share of traffic next week.

On Facebook, Mountain Brook police alerted residents that traffic on Church Street likely will be heavily impacted by the Mystics of Mountain Brook Halloween parade.

From 3 to 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, fencing will be installed behind parking spaces and along Church Street for the safety of spectators and parade participants, according to police. Church Street will also be blocked off while the temporary fencing is put up.

Any cars that are blocked in by the fence can be moved until 3:40 p.m. if a police officer moves the fence and replaces it. Starting at 3:40 p.m., cars that are blocked in until after the parade has ended and the fencing is moved.

Also next week, Alagasco will be upgrading mains and service lines throughout the city. Traffic will be negatively affected by the work, police said. Work areas include between Peachtree Street and Montcrest Drive as well as along Euclid Circle and Lake Drive.
