MBPD asks for public help identifying credit card fraud suspect

Mountain Brook police are asking for community help in identifying an individual who illegally used a credit card at the Publix on Overton Road.

On Oct. 14 around 5:30 p.m., the individual reportedly used the card, and police have released photos of the reported suspect. Anyone who can identify the individual is asked to contact Mountain Brook Police Department Detectives at 802-3856.

In the Oct. 20 community update, police reported a victim lost a debit card between Oct. 14 and 18, and the card was illegally used at the Publix on Overton Road on Oct. 18.

Police also reported two thefts by the same suspect in the community update. On Oct. 14, an individual reportedly stole four coats from the Macy’s at Brookwood Village. On Oct. 17, the suspect reportedly stole more coats from the same store. The suspect has not been arrested, according to the update, but warrants have been obtained in both cases.

Police also reported a mailbox that was damaged between Oct. 18 and 19. The incident occurred in the 3600 block of Oakdale Drive, and it was called criminal mischief in the community update.
