MBPD reports three burglaries in community update

Three burglaries were reported in the April 14 Mountain Brook Police Department community update, and all three reports involved stolen jewelry.

One burglary reportedly occurred on April 7 in the 3000 block of N. Woodridge Road. Someone forced entry into the residence and stole jewelry and electronics, according to police.

Another burglary was reported April 8 in the 2900 block of Overton Road, and jewelry and electronics were reported stolen.

Police report the third residence may have been entered through the doggie door. The incident occurred on April 12 in the 3500 block of Cherokee Road, and jewelry was reported stolen.

Jewelry and a carving were reported stolen from a residence in the 3800 block of Buckingham Lane. The incident, categorized as a property theft, reportedly occurred on April 6.

Another property theft was reported at Brookwood Village on April 11, when clothing items were reported shoplifted.

An attempted burglary was also reported in this week’s community update. Between March 30 and April 9, someone broke a sliding glass door of a residence in the 3000 block of N. Woodridge Road, according to the update.

Two drug-related incidents were also reported. On April 8, an arrest for drug paraphernalia was made following a traffic stop. The same day, another individual was arrested for possession of marijuana after a traffic stop.

A victim reported someone made two unauthorized purchases using their credit card. The purchases reportedly occurred between April 4 and April 7, and the incident was categorized as identity theft..

Two car break-ins were reported. On April 8, an unlocked car in the 3300 block of Country Club Road was entered and a wallet was taken. Between April 11 and April 12, an unlocked car in the 2500 block of Gerald Way was entered and the steering column was entered.

Police also reported recovering a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was stolen from Jasper, according to the report, and police recovered it during a traffic stop on April 11.
