New suspect for West Jackson robbery in custody

A new suspect has been arrested for a robbery on West Jackson Boulevard that occurred on Jan. 14.

Derick Izel Brown, age 20 of Birmingham, was arrested on Jan. 16 and charged with fraudulent use of a credit card. The card was stolen in conjunction with a robbery on the  3700 block of West Jackson Boulevard.

Antwone Weaver and Cedric Bailey Jr. , both age 19 of Birmingham, had been previously charged with robbery in this case.

Birmingham Police recovered the stolen silver Lexus in East Lake the afternoon of the incident.

The arrests in all cases were the result of a joint investigation involving Hoover Police, Birmingham Police and Mountain Brook Police.
