Nine car break-ins reported by police

Mountain Brook Police Department reported nine car break-ins and three thefts in this week’s community update.

Six car break-ins occurred between Aug. 12 and Aug. 13 in the areas of Balmoral, Overbrook and Pinecrest roads. The six vehicles were all reportedly unlocked, and stolen items included a television, sunglasses, credit cards, a computer, a band saw and binoculars.

The other three car break-ins occurred between Aug. 15 and Aug. 18. Between Aug. 15-17, one unlocked vehicle was entered in the 3700 block of Dunbarton Drive, and a Garmin GPS was stolen. Another vehicle in the 3800 block of Williamsburg Circle was unlocked and entered between Aug. 16 and Aug. 17. A purse, credit cards, wallet, money, sunglasses and jewelry were stolen. Between Aug. 17 and Aug. 18, a car in the 2900 block of Overhill Road, an unlocked vehicle was entered, and a Garmin Range Finder, computer and money were taken.

On Aug. 19, an unknown suspect stole clothing from a business in the 600 block of Brookwood Village. Also on Aug. 19, an unknown suspect or suspects stole a purse and credit cards from an office in the 2700 block of U.S. 280. Between Aug. 12 and Aug. 18, a pressure washer was stolen from a residence in the 4500 block of Old Leeds Road.
