The Brookwood Forest Off Shoots Garden Club is holding its annual “Deck the Hood” tree sale through Nov. 10.

The trees, 5-foot to 6-foot North Carolina Pines are on sale for $35 each. Event sale Co-Chair Christina Powell said all proceeds will benefit Brookwood Forest Elementary. Trees can be purchased by mailing or taking a check to 3505 Spring Valley Court in Mountain Brook.

Trees will be delivered Nov. 24-25, said Powell, and will be staked in the ground according to the buyer’s preferences on Nov. 26-27. From there, buyers are asked to decorate their trees outside and help “light up the Brookwood Forest area.”

Once the trees are decorated, said Powell, the Off Shoots Garden Club will organize an event — group caroling with hot chocolate, for example — to help showcase the trees.

“This is a great opportunity to decorate the neighborhood and get people out and about,” said Powell. “The club is made up of a great group of women in the area that are always trying to do different things for the community.”
