Olympian yearbook debuts

The 48th edition of the Olympian yearbook was distributed at Mountain Brook High School on May 14.

Under the direction of sponsors Jill Covington, Tessa Childs and Rachel Rich, the staff consisted of 14 members who created the 281-page yearbook published by Jostens.

"We are extremely proud of this year's Olympian staff,” Covington said. “Their hard work and dedication resulted in a high caliber yearbook that represents the culture of Mountain Brook High School and the surrounding community.  Once again, the staff went outside the box in adding the new burnishing technique to a traditional book making MBHS a leader in yearbook publishing.”

In addition to the contents of the hard cover book, the Olympian staff will produce a 48 plus page spring supplement that will be mailed to students’ home addresses in the summer.

Editors Lindsey Kirk and Grace Noden led the staff to conceptualize and develop this year’s theme, which focuses on valuing experiences that lie between the beginning and end of a journey.

"Working on The Olympian throughout the year was a great experience that taught all members of the staff leadership and teamwork,” Lindsey and Grace said.
