Overton, Cahaba roads to be repaved this week

Paving projects are continuing this week on Overton Road and Cahaba Road.

Milling began on Overton Road from Knollwood Drive to the city limits near Publix on Friday, and it is scheduled to be paved Monday and Tuesday, June 15 and 16, according to Public Works Director Ronnie Vaughn.

Additionally, milling work on Cahaba Road from the Protective Life building to Mountain Brook Village should begin on Monday.

Paving of Antietam Drive was completed on Thursday, and the asphalt portion of the alley off Park Lane next to Little Hardware in English Village is now finished.

The anticipated order for the remaining streets to be paved is: 

The work will start around 7 or 7:30 a.m. and run until 4:30 or 5 p.m. daily. One lane will be closed at a time, and emergency traffic will be able to pass the paving equipment if needed.

The paving schedule is subject to change due to weather or equipment issues, Vaughn said.
